Planet in Focus International Environmental Film & Video Festival (PIF)

This mini film festival, which first ran in August, 2006 in Toronto, will exhibit the unique perspectives of filmmakers whose
collective quest is in raising awareness and understanding of HIV/AIDS.  The filmmakers and their subjects alike send the
resounding message through this powerful collection of films from around the world, which is that anyone can make a
contribution toward the prevention of this disease proving loud and clear that science and money are not the only solutions
in slowing the pace of this epidemic. AIDS in Focus films are offered to public at no charge but a $5 suggested donation,
benefiting The Stephen Lewis Foundation, is suggested.

Some of the films that will be exhibited are:

The Bicycle, Canada, 14 Minutes

Stand Like Still Living, Botswana, 25 minutes
Their Brothers Keepers: Orphaned by AIDS, Canada, 56 minutes
Positively Naked USA, 38 minutes
On the Frontline, Zambia, 44 minutes

For more information about the films, visit the website at http://www.planetinfocus.org or call 416 531 4689 (Planet in
Focus) or 514 496 6887 (ONF)

According to the UN, there are 12 million AIDS orphans in sub-Saharan Africa alone.  8 million people die of AIDS every
year, and over 38.6 million people all over the world are living with AIDS.  The Stephen Lewis Foundation supports those
who have openly declared their HIV positive status and assists the unrecognized heroes of Africa, the grandmothers who
bury their own children and care for their orphan grandchildren.

Planet in Focus produces Canada's most acclaimed international environmental film and video festival. A not-for-profit
organization it encourages the use of film and video to frame and explore social and ecological focal points, and as a
catalyst for awareness, discussion and action. The mini-AIDS festival will allow the audience a taste of what Planet in Focus's
film festival offers annually. Please visit the Planet in Focus website for details on our 2007 festival.

Planet in Focus would like to send out a special thank you to the National Film Board of Canada for their generosity and
allowing Planet in Focus to use their films and facilities.
