The Apathy is Boring Project aims to use art, media & technology to
re-engage youth in the democratic process. Apathy is Boring will be
re-launching its brand and website in the fall of 2006. We are looking
for an individual to manage this re-launching including fundraising for
it, managing the website launch both on & offline, and supporting the
Apathy is Boring team.

Position Type: 35 hours per week
Application Deadline: Position will be filled as soon as a suitable
candidate is found.
Start Date: June 2006 (as soon as possible)
End Date: March 31st 2007 (with possibility of renewal)
Location: Apathy is Boring office Montreal with travel to Toronto /
Vancouver / Ottawa.
Compensation: $23 000 (exact amount depends on when the start date
actually is)

Job Description - Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
1) Act as Project Manager for development of Apathy is Boring’s new
website.
2) Funding Research, Grant writing, as well as working to develop &
implement a donor relations program.
3) Volunteer Management to ensure necessary website content updating,
writing, & research.
4) Assisting with event organizing linked specifically to the launch of
Apathy is Boring’s new website.
5) Being responsible for the logistical organizing for Apathy is Boring
Fundraiser in Montreal & Toronto.
6) Basic accounting and office management.

Eligible Interns (for funding purposes)
- are entry-level and emerging cultural professionals who have
graduated from college or university within the last 4 years and have
recently entered the work force
- are unemployed or under-employed
- are between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive)
- are Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or persons who has been
granted refugee status in Canada
- must be registered with CultureWorks (www.cultureworks.ca) -
Canada’s on-line cultural recruitment network
- may not be in receipt of EI benefits immediately before or during the
internship
- may not participate as part of co-op, certificate or credit programs
with any university, college or training institution
- may not have participated in any of the Youth Employment Strategy
Work Experience Programs targeted at post-secondary graduates.
- may not have been previously employed by the host organisation

Skills Required
- Experience with grant writing, fundraising & donor relations
- Basic accounting & financial management skills
- Event organizing experience
- Experience in Volunteer Management, Project Management, Project
Planning, Visioning & Brainstorming.
- Fully Bilingual both written & spoken
- Knowledge of technical aspects of web development an asset
- Independent worker, able to function effectively in a fast paced
environment.
- Effective communicator able to work with a diversity of partner
groups.
- Sense of humour
