Les meilleurs courts métrages de Comedia 2005

Du 16 au 22 juin 2006 au Cinéma du Parc

Montréal, le lundi 29 mai 2006 – Comédia, le volet cinéma du Festival Juste pour rire présenté en association avec Labatt Bleue a le plaisir de présenter du 16 au 22 juin au Cinéma du Parc un programme spécial regroupant les meilleurs courts métrages de son édition 2005. Un programme qui saura plaire tant aux cinéphiles qu'aux curieux en attendant la 10 e édition de Comedia , qui se tiendra du 13 au 23 juillet au Monument-National.

Parmi les films présentés dans cette sélection de courts métrages aussi fous que désopilants, on retrouve Our Time is Up, en nomination aux derniers Oscars et mettant en vedette Kevin Pollak dans la peau d'un psychologue un peu trop honnête avec ses patients. Également au programme deux versions très personnelles du mythe d'Œdipe; Oedipus, une interprétation plutôt explicite et Oedipus : The Movie, film d'animation interprété par des légumes. Les amateurs de sensations fortes seront comblés avec Oh My God!…cœurs sensibles s'abstenir! Les autres films qui complètent cette série sont : Cashback, de Sean Ellis, Reminiscences of the Cuban Revolutionary War : A Shot to the Neck, film canadien réalisé par Shaun-Phillipe Bryan, Late Bloomer, de Craig Macneill, Gopher Broke, de Jeff Fowler et Tim Miller et Fist Full of Pills , de Tom Hester.

Comme une bonne nouvelle n'arrive jamais toute seule, Comedia offrira un autre cadeau aux cinéphiles. En effet, chaque personne qui achète un billet au Cinéma du Parc du 16 au 22 juin recevra un coupon rabais pour la prochaine édition du volet cinéma du Festival.

Du 13 au 23 juillet, la 10e édition de Comedia s'installera à nouveau au Monument-National (1182 boul. St-Laurent), lieu de rencontres et d'échanges entre les festivaliers, réalisateurs et comédiens et où y seront présentés les programmes de courts métrages. The Best Short Films of Comedia 2005 to be presented at the Cinéma du Parc, June 16 – 22

Montreal , May 29, 2006 – The Just for Laughs Festival presented in association with Labatt Bleue is pleased to present the very best of its Comedia 2005 collection of comedy shorts. From June 16 to the 22 at Cinéma du Parc, this side-splitting line-up promises to entertain both film junkies and those impatiently awaiting this year's 10th edition of Comedia , to be held at the Monument-National from July 13 to 23.

Chosen from among the 125 short films included in last year's Comedia program, the programmers have selected the very best of the funniest from 2005. The collection will include the Oscar-nominated Our Time is Up with Kevin Pollak ( The Usual Suspects, Hostage) starring as a therapist whose advice is brutally honest. Also a must-see is Cashback, the winner of the Best Narrative Short at the 2005 Tribeca film festival that is currently being remade as a full-length feature starring Harry Potter's Sean Biggerstaff. Don't miss an eight minute interpretation of the Oedipus myth performed by…vegetables, as well as Oscar-nominated animation in Gopher Broke. Other shorts on the bill are Canadian Shaun Bryan's Reminiscences of the Cuban Revolutionary War, Oh My God! by John Bryant and Craig Macneill's Late Bloomer.

But wait, there's more! Comedia will also be giving each ticket holder attending the Best of Comedia 2005 program at Cinéma du Parc a discount on entry to this year's Comedia festival.

From July 13 to the 23, the 10th edition of Comedia will return to the hip cabaret-style Monument-National (1182 St-Laurent Boulevard) where everything and anything goes. It's a chance to schmooze with both producers and comedians while enjoying the funniest cinematic quickies on the planet.
