Dear Colleagues:
Montreal School of Performing Arts Cordially invites you to
our industry
Showcase featuring actors in our Phase II program, Wednesday
April 19 @
8pm 3480 Decarie, 2nd floor, (above the Korean Gospel Church,
just north of Sherbrooke St. West)
Phase II program: the actors worked on the skills already
acquired in
Foundation and Phase I, students were introduced to a more
sophisticated
and specific techniques of acting. Imagination and independently
motivated creation was encouraged. The Actors learned how to prepare for
a scene, how to listen effectively, and worked towards
creating ÔtruthÕ
from imaginary circumstances. Actions and intentions were explored and
applied through scene work.
The Movement and Voice work that began in Phase I was built
upon. In
their Movement work, they learned how to develop and
strengthen the
actorÕs body.
Emphasis was placed on moving with ease and purpose,
listening with the body, and moving effectively on stage.
The Vocal work focused on ease and purpose of speech. Students applied
the Phase I skills and exercises as the groundwork for
learning to sustain
energy and thought through speech, and how to listen and
respond
effectively.
Teachers: Dale Hayes (Text Work and Character Development),
Daisy Thomas
(Voice and Speech), Vitali Makorov (Movement),and the actors
of the Phase
II program,
look forward to entertaining you that evening.
Thank you,
Josa Maule
