SUMMARY:

 

Under the general supervision of the Executive Producer, the Centre Administrator advises the Executive Producer and Producers on financial issues and assists in the planning and implementation of the Centre's allocation and is responsible for its administration. The Administrator, in consultation with the Producer and Director, analyzes film/video projects at various stages and prepares detailed budgets for investigate, research, script, production and post-production phases, and monitors costs for each of the Centre's budgets. The Administrator compiles information and prepares regular financial statements for the Executive Producer and the Financial Analyst. The Administrator supervises and co-ordinates the work of Program support staff and, at the request of the Executive Producer, undertakes special assignments related to Quebec Centre. Performs other duties.

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

University degree or certificate in administration or accounting, plus several yearsÕ related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Good knowledge of film activities and related administrative procedures and policies. Thorough knowledge of NFB policies and procedures regarding the preparation and management of budgets. Knowledge of NFB collective agreements and ability to interpret and apply them accordingly.  Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with staff, colleagues and filmmakers.  Ability to co-ordinate a number of projects simultaneously. Mastery of the usual office software, particularly accounting software such as Oracle, Synchrone and Excel spreadsheets.  Suitable personal qualities such as leadership, strong interpersonal and organizational skills, initiative, judgment, tact and discretion.
