Val Lonergan - MFG Co-Founder

Montreal-born writer Val Lonergan graduated from the renowned Communications program at Concordia University in 2000. As Director of Development and Acquisitions at a prominent Canadian production and distribution house, she oversaw the development of numerous feature films and served as Associate Producer on a France/Canada international co-production as well as on a successful children's TV series. Her 2006 short film picked up the coveted Audience Choice Award at the world-famous Just For Laughs comedy fest. She is currently the Marketing Director of a major Canadian distributor and continues to develop a number of original screenplays.

In October 2005, Val (one of the twelve Montreal Film Group Co-Founders) stepped forward to join Ezra Soiferman as the MFG's Co-Director. Her vision was to build an MFG web site, to increase membership and to hold monthly events to bring members together more regularly.

In April 2008, Val stepped down as Co-Director of the MFG in order to devote more time to her screenwriting career and continue her work in film marketing.
